Outcome of our September “LEADERS EXCHANGE” call
Hello Leader!
Our September Leaders Exchange call took place yesterday, and the main topic was “Team & People Management”.
We started off by opening 3 bottles of Champagne (yes, that’s a lot I know! But each one deserved one full bottle!) to celebrate the achievements of three participants. Their excitement was contagious!
A SHORT SUMMARY:
- awareness that the term “people management” comes from a “Top-Down” culture. There was a preference for terms like “talent management”, “people empowerment” or management of the relationship with people (your team but also other people).
- from this perspective, leadership and management are more about creating a relationship with people, being willing to ask and listen to them, involving them, inspiring people, looking for solutions together.
- one way to receive support from people: by telling them the reason why their support is necessary, and highlighting the benefits they will get from supporting.
It was a great and very inspiring discussion thanks to the active, knowledgeable, professional and friendly contribution by everyone!
